Poor XAH. I wish he would get some help.

He lost his job months ago, and doesn't get unemployment benefits (since he falsified his time cards, essentially stealing), so I'm not all that surprised he wasn't able to pay child support this month (to his daughter). He has a bench warrant out for his arrest since yesterday. He called today and left a VM message, sounding teary and shaky, asking for me to "call back."

Well, I know what this is about. He's calling to ask for money, because he can't face jail (he'd have to detox) and no one will give him any money (because we've all been to Al-Anon). The consequences are kicking in, the bailout machine is decimated, and XAH is really in for an awakening. Let's see if this takes him to bottom.

Regardless, I am not falling for any of that crap (thanks in large part to you all!).

Good job staying out of it. He's got his own path, and unfortunately, jail may be part of it. It's part of the story of a few sober people I know.

I can't claim the atta girls tonight. I answered the phone without checking the number. Crap. Not a jail call, a long quack about how he's 10 days sober, job interview, had a seizure, just got out of hospital....I said, so you're not blind? He hung up on me. Lol.
