OT - have to put my cat down today

It hurts so bad.
Found out yesterday my cat has cancer & there is nothing vet can do.
He has been unwell for a couple of weeks.
The news was shocking & unexpected.
So I,m off to vet to have him put to sleep soon & end his suffering.
We've had him for about 11/2 years & he adopted us, turned up out of nowhere & brought us so much joy.
The children are very upset also.
We will have a wee service after school.
So here goes.
God bless my beautiful cat, be free xxxxxxxxxx we will miss you

Oh Rosie, I'm so sorry. This is truly heartbreaking news. From one cat lover to another, just know that you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Big hugs, Rosie. We had three more years with our beloved dog after her cancer diagnosis. Didn't dull the sting of the day we had to let her go, but I'm immensely grateful for it. I'm so glad he found you.

i am so sorry Rosie. I am a kitty lover too, and have had to let four of my babies go, in the last 7 years. Its not any easier, no matter why... but thank goodness your baby does not have to needlessly suffer. and has had such a loving home .

big hugs to you, I know your children are sad, but they have you to comfort them. my thoughts are with you.

So very sorry. We have had our kitty friend for 9 years now. It would break my heart to lose her. hugs.

I remember one time when my youngest, who turns 19 on Saturday, was about 12 and struggling in middle school with "mean girls". I got home from work one day and she was holding kitty and crying a little. I asked her what was wrong and she just said, kitty just brings her so much joy.

That about sums it up.

I'm so sorry, Rosie. I constantly complain about my one cat, and often say I'd happily give her away to a good home. Last week she had to have surgery and I've been playing nursemaid and am totally blindsided by how concerned I've been about her. They really do get into our hearts.

It sounds like you gave him a happy life. It hurts to say goodbye, but you are doing the right thing. Hugs to you and the kiddos.

Rosie, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm a dog person, but losing any animal we love is so terribly painful. Even when our minds know it's "for the best", our hearts just don't feel it....

I have an oil lamp I burn when I want to send light and love, and I'm going to let it burn through the night for you, your family and your kitty.

((((hugs))))

I'm so sorry. My cat is such a big source of support for me. They are very special animals. I do believe their little souls end up in the most beautiful of places.

Fragile Circle

We who choose to surround ourselves with
lives even more temporary than our own, live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached.
Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way.
We cherish memory as the only certain immortality,
never fully understanding the necessary plan.

Irving Townsend, "The Once Again Prince," Separate Lifetimes, 1986. Used by permission

I'm an animal lover too, and have dogs and cats both. It is so painful to let them go, yet it's the kindest thing we can do for them.

RIP Rosie's dear cat. Prayers going up for you and your children as you say goodbye. Been there many times and know the pain. You gave that boy a wonderful home and he lucked out. You will see him again.

I'm so sorry, Rosie. There are a lot of SR kitties and dogs on Rainbow Bridge that will welcome him with open paws.

Much love to you and the kids, this is hard

Hugs and prayers,

Amy
