ex algf in jail AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guy/girls Just wanted to vent again. My ex girlfriend is in jail again. She stole a car drunk, drove drunk and was 150 miles away from where she was staying, She is facing 3 felony charges, One is DUI 3rd Felony grand larceny and driving revoked reckless endangerment and speeding 95 in a 65 What I was told she is facing 3-5 years in jail or prison Well I don't have to worry about my charge against me because it was dropped by the courts here in Virginia. Talk about a life changing event She totally screwed up her life!!!!!!!!!!!!! The man she was seeing took off and left her rotting in jail. He moved back to Georgia from where he is from. She lost all of her stuff in storage and her freedom as well Maybe she will learn this time about drinking!!!!!!!!!!!!

MAYBE.
You'd be surprised at what it takes to break through the wall some A's have built around themselves. My xabf had 4 DUI's under his belt, house, lost his car, license, numerous jobs etc. etc. he's now in mandated rehab for 18 months. My sis married a recovering addict who relapsed, broke into stores at night and got thrown in jail for double digit time. The disease is more powerful than any consequences they may face. Glad you're ok though.

She's your ex. You don't need to be involved in her life and the poor choices she is choosing to make. Cut the information line and focus on you. None of what she is choosing to do to herself matters. What does matter is how you are working recovery.

I'm glad you're not involved any more Todd, but stay away from her altogether, even news from friends and FB, for you own good.
You dodged a bullet there.

Well, it's where she's been headed, isn't it? I wouldn't count on this being her "bottom"--some people seem to have only one, and that's when they're dead.

So what are you doing for YOU to stay out of the drama and get on with your life?

vttodd....yes, it is sad and tragic. All you can do is pray for her---and leave it in the hands of the Universe. No one knows how the story will be written.

How are you doing? Where is your head at, now?

Hey vttodd...this has been a long time coming. What are your plans to move forward with this person -- or even ongoing updates about this person -- in your life?

Hey Todd -- if I remember correctly, you have a restraining order against you with this woman, right?

There's not a thing you can do for her. I would suggest putting your energy into figuring out why you have such a hard time letting go of her, and moving on with your own life?

Well, I can only say a couple of things.

Be glad she is your ex. Don't fall into the trap of assisting in any way.

Realize that some people have no bottom at all. The fact that they all need to find the bottom is true, but it's really sad to know that for some that just does not exist.

Keep on doing your thing!

Have you met anyone new yet?

Do you want to meet someone?

Are you happy you have escaped all this with your ex?

I notice you have loads of !! at the end of your threat title?
Are you really surprised by this happening to her?

If this is her bottom and she gets sober, stays sober, sorts her life out, is not recognised from the woman she was, where do you see you that you fit into her life?

Todd, I looked back at some of your previous threads. Four years ago you came in here in crisis mode because she was in jail for legal problems related to her drinking.
You are in crisis mode now because she is in jail for legal problems related to her drinking.
In between then and now she has: taken out a restraining order against you, started doing porn to fund her lifestyle, been in and out of jail. Through it all there has been one constant- her drinking.
What are you doing to move past this relationship? This woman is your ex and you are still absolutely fixated on her- her life, her choices, her (self-created) problems.
Are you in Alanon? Counseling? Anything that puts your focus back on you, where it belongs?

Yup.

Good for you mate!!!

Can you ask your lawyer not to tell you things about her anymore? He/she might think its best but I always think with things like this, its best to have no further information.

This chapter of your life is over and from the sounds of it the new chapter is going to be really exciting xx
