So my job, like most jobs post Great Recession, is more than one person can do perfectly. It has been a training zone in letting go as despite all of my efforts and trying to rely on other people and systems, I cannot 100% nail everything. This project is a window into how this place runs on a whim and the backs of not enough staff. My primary coworker is a passive aggressive workaholic who may or may not help on the project. For example, I might be at another site and she will not do what needs to be done for the project despite me talking to her, emailing her a daily list, and highlighting it on her daily list. I have no HR authority to solve this key back up role. Of course there isn't money to hire another me either.

Last month one of my primary projects got shut down by 2 different regulatory groups. It was already a train wreck when I started this job, and despite a ton of work, it is STILL a train wreck.

Please pray for me today. I have been struggling through the first audit response and the second group has a teleconference with us today. I don't want to JADE but I do not want this one project to ruin my work reputation either. I need to find a detached civil informed voice today.

You are a pro, so you certainly don't need any advice about work. Can you make a plan to find another company? Consult? It is a challenge to work with someone you did not choose and you have no authority over yet you must rely on...

Prayers for you to breathe, remain calm, and know that you're doing your best.
And prayers for the regulators (I used to be one) to have some decency and common sense in the way they handle this.

praying for you! I used to say on the job to myself, "I am only one person." meaning, you can all do so much...you can't do your job and someone else's job...sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders to vent it here rather than at the workplace...you can do this!
