OT/Blowing Snow!

HA!!

HA HA HAAAAAA!!

I learned to run the snow blower tonight! And I blew snow! And this is no wimpy little snow blower; this is an EIGHT HORSE TWO-STAGE SNOWBLOWER!!

I am woman, hear me roar!!

Another "blow" for freedom!

I'll settle down now, but I just wanted to share...

Can't live in those climes without one, honeypig! Congratulations on your neat and tidy, snow-free drive and sidewalks

Honey Pig... you are so funny!!

You should be proud of yourself for plowing the driveway.... I changed the filter on furnace today. Not hard to do but just didn't know where it was or what to do with it. I have been buying them for years on my other house, but never did it myself.

(It was filthy!!)

Us women are just AMAZING!!!!

Snowblowers.... Shovels....

What are you talking about Lillamy?

Real women pack up the car and move to warmer states.

We've got more important things to worry about. D@mnit girl! We've got Honeypig running amok somewhere in Milwaukee blowing snow and roaring. Apparently on some kind of feminist weather crusade. Freaking out both the neighborhood children and the neighborhood sexists.

What are we going to do? We may not hear from her until springtime.

Honepig....I tip my hat to you!!!!!!!!!

You know...I will never be able to hear a Helen Reddy song again without thinking about you....LOL.

I know that this represents a HUGE accomplishment for you....because it was one of your big fears about "needing" your husband.
True accomplishments are what increases self-esteem.
You just cut another notch in your self-esteem belt.

Oh, you guys, you all make me laugh, which is good, given that soon I get to go out in the -4 degree day (-21 w/wind chill) and deliver that bread!!

Lillamy, my house has a long gravel driveway, and I did actually shovel for many years. My hub kept wanting to get a snow blower, and several years ago I relented and said OK, let's get one. It was a good purchase, and there's still plenty of "un-blowable" areas for me to shovel so I don't get out of practice.

maia, yes, just like your furnace filter, this was something I am totally capable of but simply never learned how to do.

SeriousKarma, I actually do start driving the karate kids again today after their holiday break, so I will indeed be freaking out the neighborhood kids! Your response here is way too funny!

And dandy, yes, you are exactly right, keeping the drive open is indeed one of my concerns about being on my own. It feels good to "X out" that particular worry!

Stay warm, all!

Way to go Honeypig!! I snow-blowed on Saturday after jump starting the car. And mow the lawn with a 48 inch walk behind mower.

Sometimes just reading the directions works really well - something AH is always baffled by - lol.

We have a very steep driveway and if it isn't kept clear we don't get out. It's very empowering to be able to keep our homes and families safe isn't it?

HoneyPig, I think I just heard Serious Karma's report on CNN about a ferocious woman roaring in the storm.... or maybe it was a lion on the loose in Milwaukee with a snowblower...

WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've made us all feel a bit more victorious!

AH has often told me I'm "too fierce" about this or that. I'm beginning to think that maybe I've never been nearly fierce enough!

Hugs and hugs and hugs to all--I'm freezing my hind end off but my heart is warm!

You know, I'm thinking I could help thaw the snow just by bringing my hot flashes outside... maybe not all the way to Milwaukee, though...

Seriously, lillamy--it is dang cold. I'd pay your airfare to get here if it would help take the edge off the deep freeze! Predicted high for Wednesday is -1.

And my brave 17-year-old Saturn wagon soldiers on--you gotta love a car that always starts, right?

i was never so happy as the day my snowblower died. I could either spend a thousand plus bucks on a new one, or hire the bored retired guy down the street ( who was just looking for a little walking around money) to plow my snow. Guess what one I chose?

It's sub zero temps here today off lake huron, blowing, drifting, icy roads, I am so over winter.

But you are my hero honeypig, you are one strong woman!
