Hopeful4, I know you may be right. I am trying not to enable. He has been told by his Dr's to quit smoking and cut back on drinking yet he continues. He is in for many more health problems I'm afraid but that is his choice. I do care about him and try to be a support person in his life but I know if I'm not careful I will end up physically depleted of energy. I'm trying to find a healthy balance. I appreciate your input seeing as you have been there.

Chanta, I take my coworker's comments with a grain of salt. I know she tends to be judgemental but I also will watch what I say to her and others I work with more carefully. Thank you for your response.
