Have you ever gone back and read?
The other day when I was feeling a bit sad about my AH's relapse, I decided to go back and read my posts. I had forgotten how long ago I first made a post here, and yet that isn't even the beginning of my journey with an alcoholic husband. I read each entry I've made up to the present. It's shocking. I'm just hoping I can correct some of it and not repeat past mistakes.

Yep - I do it all the time to gauge mine & RAH's growth. I love SR for that reason alone..... nothing is ever as real as reading your own words & remembering the emotions you were feeling at the time of posting.

I don't go back to often, but recently had another member link me to a couple of my own old posts when I was questioning myself. I appreciated that very much, it reminded me how far I have come as a person.

I do that every so often to remind myself where I came from and it is a VERY powerful tool. When I go back and read the desperation in my early posts, it solidifies my resolve to stay clean and sober.
