Codies Quack Too!
I guess I'm a duck too:
* He's mentally ill.
* He needs the pain relief and has no other options.
* He said he will quit. He can quit because he really wants to quit.
* All those other people with happy marriages are just hiding something.
* If do X, Y, Z, he will find it easier to quit.
* He had a bad childhood.
I'm sure there are other things I said... but I'm probably blocking them out.

He's admitted he has a problem and he's said he's going to get help.
*a week passes*
Just not today because hes too embarrassed.
He can do it on his own now he's finally admitted he's got a problem.
Praise be!!!

The most shocking thing was reading my old journal, the entries from 2008 an 2009, clearly labeling him as "alcoholic," but then also saying how I am lucky to have found him and that it could have been much worse. Funny thing, I do not even remember writing this, or ever calling him alcoholic with 100% certainty. Oh the sweet power of denial.

My worst one handsdown..."I 100% buy his reason that he drinks so much because his parents don't respect boundaries. We SHOULD take that job offer 1700 miles away from everyone we know in a city we've never been to!"
