Picked my brother up after getting the spare room all nice and cozy, got his meds sorted. Bought him a dresser and some clothes.
And for effs sake he freaking bought beer - and tried to sneak it in.

While my stepson was in the hospital detoxing (nearly died himself), my stepdaughter wanted to clean up his room--give him a fresh start. She insisted we buy fresh bedding for him, she scrubbed the room top to bottom, hung new window coverings, washed the new bedding and made the bed.
Less than 2 months later, he was using crack and threatened to kill her and two other members of his family...
He just wasn't ready to be done.
