Thank you

I just wanted to thank everyone here for being supportive when I broke up with my alcoholic ex boyfriend and giving me the strength to know I was doing the right thing. It was the best decision for my daughter and me. I learned yesterday that he got pulled over while drunk with his kids in the car. His vehicle was seized, he went to jail for a few days, and now is living with his parents. This was not someone who was healthy for me. It is scary to know how close I was to being caught up in his unhealthy life. If I wouldn't have discovered him hiding his alcohol issues in time, it could have been me and my daughter in that car. It's a complete eye-opener.

Good for you for seeking help for yourself and for having the courage to remove yourself from this situation! I wish you all the best in your new life, and thanks so much for sharing this here on the boards.

I too am glad you are away from that. I pray for his own children that he loses his ability to drive at all. How awful.

So glad you are in a better place and safe!

Hugs!! As tough as it is to end things, it sounds like you did the right thing. You put the safety of yourself and your DD first. That could have been you in the car and God knows what could have happened. Hopefully this will be the "bottom" he needs to help himself. Hang in there, it will get easier.
