It's just too quiet. I thought we could play a game.
ABCs of Recovery. I'll start.
A is for our alcohic, who is the focus of our codependency.
A is for awareness-learning the truth about ourselves and our situation.
A is for acceptance-accepting ourselves and our situation.
A is for action-changing ourselves and our situation to make our lives better.

D is for Discovery - discovering that we really can make it on our own and we will survive.

Elephant in the living room!
Ego-boosting... discovering that you are worthwhile! Spending time with people that acknowledge it!
Exercising. Place the tounge firmly against the roof of the mouth and phonate.... NNNNNN. Now drop the tounge to the floor of the mouth and make an oval with your lips. Phonate OOOOOOO. Now repeat in succession. NnnOoooo! Quicker! NO! NO! NO! Repeat as necessary.

Oh Goodie - I was waiting for "F" what is it about that letter?
F is for FUN - You just gotta have some fun in your life or you'll never survive. Fun makes you laugh and feel good and feel happy, and that replaces all the bad stuff we have been feeling.
F is for Future - We now have one worth living.
F is for Fearless - We finallly stop living in fear.
F is for Faith - A trusting that God will look after us every day.
F is for Fat Chance - When A's want to "borrow" money.

N is for NEW - New dreams, New life without chaos, New world of serenity and peace.

P is for Prayer - sometimes to ask for help, sometimes to say "thank you" but always because there is a Power greater than ourselves who watches over us, if we just get out of His way.
