Could use some prayers guys Hi all, Having a hell of a time here. My family got news last week that my dad has a brain tumor - a bad one - the prognosis is hard for me to think about. We're gutted..just devastated, but joining hands, and moving forward making the best decisions possible to get him through this....and spending as much time possible together. I am NOT ready to deal with this, or see the people I love the most go through this....BUT I am thankful for: - the best, most loving and supportive family a girl could ask for - a series of stars in alignment events that are leading us to specialists out of state - advanced warning - not many people are so lucky to be told they need to take advantage of the time they have - recovery tools and ways to find serenity through this - fishing - the whole family is going fishing this weekend - for quality time, and to take our minds off this nightmare before we march ahead into the hospital life - faith - the unified faith, hope, and positivity because of faith that I see from my parents, aunt and siblings is inspiring, breathtaking, and so humbling. If you have a sec, we'll take all the prayers, positive energy, good thoughts, and happy vibes we can get through this painful time. THANK YOU! xoxo SR family. |
:grouphug: I'm so sorry - prayers & positive thoughts headed your way!! |
firebolt...big hugs and you, your dad and the rest of your family are on my prayer list. Hugs to you..I know how hard this is. My grandmother, who was more like my mother, had a brain tumor. May your time together be full of blessings to one another! |
Im so sorry. My sister-in law just passed away from a brain tumor (the worst one stage 4 glioblastoma) and I will tell you she outlived the odds by a long shot. They gave her 6 months and she lived 6 years past that, the majority in great health which is a blessing. Im sending prayers to you and your family. It is so tough on all of you. Make sure to take care of yourself. None of us know how long we have in this world so make the most of it. Enjoy your fishing trip. It sounds wonderful. |
Sending Hugs and Prayers your way. Hoping you guys have a great fishing trip to focus on for a little bit! |
I'm so very sorry. I lost both my aunt and my father to brain tumors(my dad's was actually wrapped around his spinal cord but it was diagnosed as a brain tumor). My prayers are with you and I do hope you have a beautiful time fishing with the family! HUGS! |
unsureoffuture - We have the same giloblastoma diagnosis - won't know stage until Tuesday. Thanks for sharing a success story. I am usually a numbers / odds person, but right now am holding the opinion: "fVck the odds on this one." No one in my family has ever been the norm on anything anyway :) Thanks everyone - I appreciate it! |
My thoughts and prayers are with you firebolt. Hugs! |

Dear God, Please carry Firebolt and her family through this and out the other side. Please give her the wisdom to seek Your Will and Your Way, and the power to follow it. Amen. |
Peace and hugs Firebolt. I am praying for a great and compassionate medical team. I hope you all catch lots of fish and enjoy this time. What a wonderful idea! Please keep us posted. Blessings to all. |
Update on my dad. It's been a long and tough couple of weeks but we're doing great. Found the best neuro we could, jumped through a ton of hoops to get dad's insurance to cover the best, traveled 3 states away for the consult, and found ourselves waiting for dad to wake up in post op 3 days later. He went through surgery to remove the tumor like a champ. On the road to recovery and whatever upcoming hurdles this bs throws his way. I am in awe of his spirit and positivity and determination....as well as the strength and support of my family. Rockstars....All of them. Thanks for all of the prayers guys, step one of this nightmare is about over..and so far, a blessed success. Nice to have some relief from the initial shock of this. Next steps are chemo, radiation, rehabilitation, MRIs every other month, and a LOT more praying and family time. Thanks again all! |
wow firebolt.. I'm so happy for you and your family. My father had stage four bladder cancer, he made it through, and has been cancer free for five years now. Miracles can happen. L |
