Sending hugs and wishing you continued (yes, continued ) strength.
And dear SR family, for those of you who clean when stressed or anxious, have I got a project for you. OK, most of it's decluttering, but the house is currently a wreck. I'm hoping Spring and being home when there's daylight will help my motivation. (hugs)

I didn't read all of the responses, but as usual I know they were great. I am a procrastinator by nature. I will put things off, and put things off, till I have to do them. That is the push that I need. I will and do get things done.
I also remember times, like xmas shopping, yes, I put it off till the end. I was totally depressed, but I got myself out to the stores. What I did was first I went to the pet store. I had to look and touch kittens and puppies. Another thing that I did, I would go to a plant nursery, or Lowes, Home Depot, and just look at the plants and just "smell" life.
(((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))) and here for you.

Kick or punch a mattress or pillow
Eat sugar
Chocolate (yes, dark)
Smell the little one's head and kiss his little cheeks

Write
Make lists (not just "to do," but also a list of accomplishments, even if it's just mini goals that go toward the big goals)
Read stories of people who have similar situations and made it through.

I alternate between doing nothing, ordering take out and watching tv or listening to music and letting myself feel what I feel. It helps me take ownership of those feelings.
AND
Obsessive cleaning. To the point of alphabetising my spice rack and putting them according to type! During weekdays I worked overtime going through the department budget of the past three years and reorganising it.
Like others, cooking complex exotic recipes helps a lot. I really enjoy the outcome and it keeps my head occupied. I am now a much better cook as a result of this past year.
Please let us know how you got on, I am praying for you today.

When I am in crisis mode or feeling so sad about things that are happening, I try to remember to "Let go and Let God or HP take over". I give it all to my HP and say to myself, "I cant control any of it so I might as well not worry about it". I trust my HP will lead the way for me and it will all work out in the end. Its easier said than done but it does give me a feeling of calmness at that moment. I then try to be good to myself and look at the blessings in my life.

I have applied multiple times for every possible government benefit, including energy assistance. Every single agency counts the alimony I pay to my ex-husband as MY income, so I do not qualify for any benefits.
