Greetings... I'm new to this site. I'm a gf of an A... i was told of a good book that was highly recommended that helps you understand alcoholics... does anyone know which book?? Thank you much. .

Well the technical answer to your question is The Big Book. It is free online.

However, the book that helped me understand my own role in my relationship with my qualifier was Codependent No More by Melody Beattie. it might be available right at a library or bookstore or I suppose eBook too.

Once you get towards Alanon (for the Family and Friends of A's) or any of the other Programs, such as Celebrate Recovery, etc., they tend to have their own set of books.

You can shop Amazon.com under the search topic of Alanon
