Totally you are correct however my kids are 18 in college and a 22 year old married ... They have never really liked anyone I've dated.. This one is much younger so that's a big problem for them, but I've laid down rules and I will get stronger & will survive I always do
There is nothing wrong with surviving honey, but would you rather survive or thrive?
I don't hear much in your story that tells me you are happy or in a place of peace right now. Do you see yourself finding peace and happiness with this man...based on who he is right now? You can only change yourself.
Being his mother, trying to change him, fix him...in order to make yourself happy will never happen. It will always feel like you're in survival mode.
