Kind of OT - Big Day Tomorrow
Tomorrow is my court hearing to terminate my alimony payments to my ex-husband. There are many possible outcomes (as is true in pretty much every court hearing). I know that eventually, things will go my way because our settlement agreement states very clearly that alimony terminates after 5 years, and 5 years is up. But my ex-husband has a history of trying to drag things out as long as possible, so my biggest fear is that he will request some sort of continuance tomorrow (which would automatically mean I continue to pay alimony. The payments continue until the judge issues an order terminating them).
The best possible outcome for me would be the judge issuing a ruling tomorrow terminating the alimony payments and entering a new support order the same day. It would then still take 3-6 weeks for the state and my employer to process everything and adjust the amounts that are withheld from my paycheck.
I don't have to explain to you all how important this is with respect to my ability to leave my AH. Ending those alimony payments will get me a lot closer to being able to support myself and my children.
Prayers and positive thoughts are much appreciated!

Thanks so much everyone. I arrived at court early and am just trying to meditate and pray, and stay calm. I will post as soon as we're done. Your prayers and good thoughts are lifting me up right now.
