I hope this was ok to post here. . . but I wanted to tell everyone how much I appreciate everyone. I have learned so much in the last week since I found this site than I knew in years. I am so sorry that everyone is affected one way or the other with this disease but thank you everyone for talking about what you are going through because I helped me.

I have been so ashamed and embarrassed to express myself to family and friends. I never could put my finger on what was happening and really thought this was how life is with a husband. There have been times I recall being so upset that I woke up to another day. I have never heard of codependency nor knew what alcoholism and drugs were all about. I am 36 years old and finally in a long time happy to another year.

And THAT is an important role he serves.

The rest of us guys figure that guys like yours make the rest of us look good. :)

I think anyone looks better.

Not me. I don't think I ever want to get married again after this. Additionally, I don't ever want to be dependent upon anyone ever again. Marriage is amazing then things are going right but this, this is hell on Earth.
