Update on My Garden Of Recovery

I just thought I would give you a brief update on my garden of recovery.

Newcomers, I planted this garden a while back naming all my flowers after people here.

Well, I hadn't been out there much the past week, between looking for a job and rain, but today I went out and was surprised at those sneaky weeds, and decided to name them too, and I pulled, whacked and dug. (This garden is just the best place to let some energy fly).

There were weeds, well disguised as flowers, blending in among the blossoms so not to be noticed. These are now my "thought it was kindness but was really a rescue" weeds.

There were tall prickly weeds, just standing as if to defy me to touch their prickles. These are my "come near me I'll jab you 4th step weeds"...not to be feared!! Pain reminders can heal too.

There were little delicate weeds creeping at the rear and intermingling with my lower plants. These are my "complacency" weeds. Hard to notice but will choke the life out of any recovery flowers given enough time and space.

And a few strange, grassy looking weeds, that I call my "confusion" weeds, because they probably know they shouldn't be there but haven't found the right place to be yet...like some character defects that just haven't been let go.

I feel so much better, being in the sun, weeding and watering, and my garden is BEAUTIFUL once again!!!

The colours and the smell are wonderful and the mix is perfect, even though I had no clue when I started how it would turn out. And I have never seen so many rose blossoms just ready to bloom. My neighbours will love them! And I will take some to Beth for her mother.

Well that wasn't too brief, but I did need to share.

Hugs

Ann,
Just like the "quick question" for
Smoke? You are so funny, and have a
vivid imagination, I really enjoyed this.
And kind too, Beth will be so happy!

They is "begoniaing" just fine. Bright yellow and just pretty as punch . I was worried about them because we has some late cool weather, but they sprung back just fine

anns,

im so glad for the update. how are the 'krazeegirl' violets? i think of you everytime i look at my garden, which i finally started.

i know i said i was gonna name my first flower after you, since you were my insperation. but remember how i said, i was just gonna have faith that i would know it when i saw it? well heres the story..

my h put a big square block in the middle of my garden so i could reach the back of it easier. he said after we got all the flowers planted, i could pick out a statue to put there. thats when it hit me....im getting an 'anns' angel to watch over my garden.

thanks for all the encouragement and insperation you give to everyone here. and congrates on all the wonderful things that are going on in your life. you deserve them.

HUGS~

That is so NICE!!!! You know I love angels (what was your first hint) and I believe that they watch over us all the time.

I can just picture that garden and I think it is so special that you would pick an angel. Isn't it great to garden. I never did much before this year, oh a few flowers here and there, but I have had such fun and enjoyment with mine, that I know I will do this every year. And I am no green thumb gardener. I love a more mixed and natural look, and mine is coming along so nice.

Thanks for the honour.

Hugs

im no gardener either. my husband is good at it though. but i told him that i wanted to do it by myself. the only thing i let him do was to dump all the bags of dirt in. oh yea, he gets to clean up the all the 'presents' the neighborhood cats leave...lol.

i just went to the store and brought flowers that i thought looked pretty. dont know if they will grow, cant even pronounce most of em. globe amaranth, (purple) celosia, (kinda purple) purslane, ageratum, and of course putnias (purple and pink)

:p anns---just wanted to let you know that I, too, have found gardening a great way to get the focus back on me and help ME recover. I love my garden and the time I spend there. It's a forever renewing process and it reminds me how much the world really has to offer if you are willing to see it. I focus mainly on a vegetable garden, simply because we are so darn poor but also have many flowers. I start most everything from seed because for me, itis themost rewarding. This year I focused on chile peppers...every variety I could find. They are a blast....I am even growing the Peter pepper....you can probably guess what they are supposed to look like! Thanks for all of your inspirational posts. I am still too new to feel like part of the group, but glad I can at least come here and read and feel connected

Piggle

You ARE part of the group. You became part of it the moment you posted one word on this board.

And I have to chuckle, you say you plant vegetables because you are poor. I can't plant vegetables (not the right space and sun) so I have to either pay a fortune or drive about an hour into the country to get fresh vegetables, which I LOVE!!! (I live in Toronto)

Whose grass is greener?

Anyway, I for one am really really glad that you ARE one of US.

anns--I can't thank you enough. I really have never felt like part of any group so it's likely more of a perception issue for me. haha. Either way, you have been so so kind and I am very glad to be here.

And when you put it that way (you having to drive an HOUR for fresh veggies and not be able to grow them!) I think maybe I DO have it a lil better. Afterall, I get to watch my babies grow everyday, all summer, and then enjoy eating them as they ripen. I am in OH....reasonable growing season if you start seeds indoors.

Again, thanks so much for simply acknowledging :p I can't seem to get any work done today...reading everything here!

LOL Piggle you are really most definitely one of us now because you made me laugh.

I was reading your post and when you spoke of watching your babies grow, I thought you meant being at home with your children...until you said you ATE them. .

Have a great day Piggle - you just made mine!!!

Anns...now that made me chuckle out loud!! No, no real babies yet...too many issues to work out yet...can't bring an innocent in voluntarily. Hopefully the issues will be worked out before I am too old to be a mom.

As you might be able to tell, I am a caretaker....if it isn't sick, damaged, or in need of care, I don't want it! LOL My A took me to the pound to look at doggies one day and I found this one with 3 1/2 legs and one ear. Of course I fell in love and wanted HIM! A garden is a good thing for me...let's me care for something that won't disapoint me (most times).

You have a great weekend *HUGS*
