The Family Afterwards, meeting(s), etc.

Visited the Plano Texas ODAAT (one day at a time) Alanon yesterday.

I see they run a once-a-week "Family Afterwards" meeting.

Asked about that after the regular Alanon meeting, but the folks did not seem to know much about it.

I guess it is based on this >>>

Anyone have any experience in this or related comments?

Thanks.

Out here on the left coast those are usually "Question and Answer" meetings for newcomers. They hand out meeting directories, phone lists, a handful of pamphlets, and read some of the introductory material from al-anon.

The al-anon website has a packet you can order with the full format for those "introduction" meetings. It's hard to find due to the large volume of material they provide, I'll see if I can dig it up.

Mike :)

That is part of the fun.

Me and rest of the so-called Alanon "Men"folk dress up in drag to celebrate the olde-tyme perspective.

But it is usually spoken as "Wimmen-Folk" in keeping with the character.

. . . .

However if you really to see a total load of crap, piled on deep (mho) read To Wives . . .
