Tear Jerker... Warning!

This was sent to me from a friend, and it really touched my heart. It was an email petittion that is being sent to Pres. Bush from MADD once it hits 5000 signatures. If you want to sign the petittion just pm me with your email addy and I will send it to you. But here it is to read....

This says it all......
>
>WENT TO A PARTY, MOM
>

>
>I went to a party,
>And remembered what you said.
>You told me not to drink, Mom
>So I had a sprite instead.
>
>I felt proud of myself,
>The way you said I would,
>That I didn't drink and drive,
>Though some friends said I should.
>
>I made a healthy choice,
>And your advice to me was right,
>The party finally ended,
>And the kids drove out of sight.
>
>I got into my car,
>Sure to get home in one piece,
>I never knew what was coming, Mom
>Something I expected least.
>
>Now I'm lying on the pavement,
>And I hear the policeman say,
>The kid that caused this wreck was drunk,
>Mom, his voice seems far away.
>
>My own blood is all around me,
>As I try hard not to cry.
>I can hear the paramedic say,
>This girl is going to die.
>
>I'm sure the guy had no idea,
>While he was flying high,
>Because he chose to drink and drive,
>Now I would have to die.
>
>So why do people do it, Mom
>Knowing that it ruins lives?
>
>And now the pain is cutting me,
>Like a hundred stabbing knives.
>
>Tell sister not to be afraid, Mom
>Tell daddy to be brave,
>And when I go to heaven,
>Put Daddy's Girl on my grave.
>
>Someone should have taught him,
>That it's wrong to drink and drive.
>Maybe if his parents had,
>I'd still be alive.
>
>My breath is getting shorter, Mom
>I'm getting really scared.
>These are my final moments,
>And I'm so unprepared.
>
>I wish that you could hold me Mom,
>As I lie here and die.
>I wish that I could say, "I love you, Mom!"
>So I love you and good-bye.

Hi Jamie,
I too received this in an email. I immediately forwarded it to my husband email. You see he is an alcoholic. He has already had one dui and continues to drink and drive. I have gone to the extent of asking him if he thinks he could live with himself if he were to kill someone while driving drunk. His drunk response was...."I guess I would have to." What an ass!!!!!!! Nothing seems to take priority over alcohol with him. Sometimes I feel on the verge of giving up. God Bless You.

Jamie...my son is in jail on his 5th DUI. Dispite my love for my son I am appalled at a system that will put him back on the street in 15 months.

I fear a future that includes our last name being used as an example to tighten drunk driving laws.

This was a tear jerker.
My h too has gotten 2 DUIs in his life, and I too think I shall copy this out, casually leave it on my fridge...
Thanks for sharing this.

Jamie,

I also received this email! I cried and cried when I read it the first time. It is very sad that this really does happen and it's always the innocent that die and the Alcholic driver seems to surrvive. They have no concious for if they did they wouldn't get behind the wheel!!!

Thank You,
Claudia
