Staying positive

After almost a decade of having to deal with my XAH I shouldn't be shocked at anything that comes my way. As always, whenever something positive is happening or going to happen in my or my son's life, he throws something our direction. My son and I are leaving on Sunday for a two-week trip to Alaska. My XAH sends me a text this morning dropping another bomb about responsibilities that he will not be following through on as he earlier said he would....the day before I leave. I know I should be used to this but I am so tired of dealing with it. I try very hard to not have my son caught up in the turmoil but at the same time he is old enough to be able to process what his father is doing. I'm trying to stay positive but it is so very hard at times when it happens again and again and again......

I feel better venting. I'm a recovering alcoholic and I know I'm not going to drink over this. Thank you for being here!

Congratulations on your sobriety, clover! Your upcoming trip sounds like fun.

If you X's actions do not interfere with your trip plans, then go! Have a great time!! Hopefully, this is something that can wait until you return.

Well, I can attest to the weather begin beautiful here in Alaska (unless you are going to Fairbanks for any length of time - forest fires!) If you are a fisherman/woman, the reds are beginning their runs. If you like wildlife viewing, its out in force. If you are a nature person, the wildflowers are in full bloom. Nothing, short of a catastrophe, will matter when you land here and begin two glorious weeks on vacation with your son in am amazingly breathtaking location (yes, I am biased!).

Breath, don't worry, fix whatever needs fixing today, pack your bags (don't forget your camera!) and HAVE FUN.

You never know when you'll get another chance like this one. Trust me - after the flight here, you'll understand why I say this. ; )
