What's your excuse?

I keep a pint of Ben and Jerrys NYSFC in the fridge because....
It helps me relax.
It makes me forget about how much you bitch at me.
I like the taste.
I can quit anytime I want.
I only had two.
My friend keeps THREE pints in his fridge. I'm not that bad.

:)

Oh, fun! I'll play.

My house is a mess because:

My mom made me do chores all the time and now that I have my own place I shouldn't have to do them.

I've had all these household disasters and I got too discouraged to keep up with it.

I can usually find stuff--it just takes me a little longer than people who keep their stuff organized.

If I clean up, it just gets messy all over again.

I'm missing the "organization gene."

I really don't want to have people over, anyway.

I don't smoke cigarettes anymore, I just smoke socially/on the weekends/occasionally with friends. I can quit when I want.

Don't tell my mom/son/boss.

I don't know, but we load up on Ben and Jerry's
to fill our freezer. 5 pints each. 10 altogether
at one time or another.....

New York Fudge Chunks for him and Pistachio Pistachio for me. lol

A pint with 2 and a half men and Big Bang Theory
reruns twice a week or more. :rotfxko

My excuses are all the same, including, I am lazy, so I use LexieCat's post!
What candybar?, there was never a Reeses Fast Break in my purse!
You are crazy! You are making it up! I can stop anytime I want!

My RAH used to say:
"me and my family have a very high tolerance for alcohol." (Not that alcoholism is genetic or anything. lol)
"I like the taste." (Therefore he and his family drank it like water)
"I only drink beer, not the hard stuff."
"It's the only time I can tell you how I REALLY feel". (Usually after he called me the big B).

I could go on and on....

Don't miss those days!

I was planning on exercising before work but I overslept.
I was planning on exercising before work but I didn't sleep well & didn't get up.
I was planning on walking after work, but it was raining.
I wanted to workout but I just feel crappy today....
I got so wrapped up in DD's needs that I forgot I wanted to get some exercise in.

These go along with:

Just one more piece is fine, I'll just get up earlier tomorrow and work out.
It's okay if I have a dessert tonight (even though I promised myself I wouldn't) because I'll just walk an extra mile tomorrow.
I know I said I'd quit sweets for a week before giving in, but I've gone all day & WHAT'S THE DIFF if I just have 1 treat?
It's OK if I eat this chocolate - it's dark chocolate & that has health benefits!

Geez, I had to do last night's dinner dishes in a hurry just so that I didn't get caught so I could answer this post...
and had to grab some of that Ben and Jerry's Banana split ice cream on the way out of the kitchen cuz you all triggered me...

My mind is going SR, I can feel it...

Great thread, very thought provoking.

I realized that in many ways I am still using my husband as my excuse to not be the best I can be....for me!!

I will be journaling about this one all week, lol

:tyou

Also: I'm too stressed out to quit TOTALLY.

CarryOn 07-10-2013 01:19 PM

D*mn, now I know one of those "defects" I may want to work on!

I'm always late because...
  • I was born a month late...I'm still catching up!
  • One of the dogs was sick/scared of the storm/made a mess
  • RAH called, he's out of town so figured it was important
  • Some other family member called
  • Forgot to iron my clothes last night
  • Car problems
  • The stop lights were out
  • It's construction season/winter, what do you expect?
  • Lost track of time
  • Work call - had to get on the pc to take care of it
  • Yeah, I could go on & on & on & on...

Welcome to the Borg, resistance is futile!

bwahahahahaha!

Jazzman 07-10-2013 01:24 PM

Yeah yeah.. "dark chocolate" it's good for you! I read that somewhere I think?

My cholesterol is tad high (off the charts). And I'm making changes to my lifestyle (DR put me on Lipitor). I'm adding to my exercise routine, (walking Milo a little further) and reducing the amount of red meat I eat (burger instead of NY Strip). I'm also increasing the amount of fiber I eat, (pineapple and strawberries).

I need some good excuses for my next CBC that only shows a slight reduction in my LDL numbers.

You guys are KILLING me; this is way, way too funny!

Sueski 07-10-2013 02:43 PM

Well, I don't REALLY have to exercise/wash these dishes/finish this project/fill in the blank today. I can just do it tomorrow.

Brokentapestry 07-10-2013 03:34 PM

I'm grading on a curve lately. If it doesn't end with you in the hospital, then you don't have a problem. :rotfxko

"Well, everyone's gotta die from something, right?"

amy55 07-10-2013 05:25 PM

I would start my diet today, but, I still have to get rid of the crackers, the cheese, the ice cream, the candy. When I get rid of all that, "I will start my diet", unless of course if I go food shopping when I am hungry.
