at hospital right now
Hubby had seizure from alcohol withdrawal. I'm sitting here listening to machines beeping, watching nurses rush around. I keep thinking what did I do in life to end up like this? I feel so bad for my husband.

Blame is counter productive regarding yourself.
Keep your chin up.
Been in your shoes, next to the bed and the beeping lights.
Prayers out. And as lillamy said, it isn't a matter of what you "deserve"--sad, scary stuff happens to everybody sometimes.
Hugs, hope he is better soon.

I am sorry you have to endure this. Your ADH is sick. It is not your fault and you did not "do anything" in life to cause you to end up there, just as someone with cancer or heart disease or a stroke did not do anything to "end up" there. Bad things happen to good people. He has an illness. Take care of yourself so that you are better to take care of him. Sending hugs during this difficult time.

I feel for you.
My AW took the ambulance ride to the hospital 7 months ago due to seizures. Scared the crap out of me. She was in for 5 days drying out and caught a staff infection while there.
Due to the staff infection, she was in the hospital for 4 weeks and had two major back surgeries and then in a rehab home for another 2-3 weeks.
It had been the longest she went without a drink in years and I got my expectations up that maybe she had hit her bottom.
No such luck. She went right back to drinking and quit her P.T. after about a month. So her recovery from the back surgeries is very slow and her real recovery is non-existent.
Good luck, I hope this turns out better for you.
