What do you love?

In thinking about things I might have in common with other people - in terms of making friends in this new town - I have decided to make a list of things I love, because how can we share interests if I don't have any? Or know what they are?

1. the Book of Common Prayer (1928)
2. My 3 children
3. Good dogs
4. Language
5. Good books
6. Clean sheets
7. Early bedtimes
8. Simple schedules
9. Evening walks
10. Coffee
11. Dessert
12. men who cook
13. front porches
14. hammocks
15. stargazing

Now my mind is thinking of other things I like, and how to make it so.
Thank you stella!

What a great, positive post! I struggle with this a bit (identifying my interests outside of being a spouse or a mom) so I'll play:
  1. Yoga
  2. My cats
  3. Being active - taking walks, bike rides, whatever
  4. Guilty Pleasure TV - mostly all the Real Housewives shows, lol
  5. Exploring my spirituality - tarot, crystals, reiki, meditating, etc
  6. Chocolate - served any way, in almost every flavor (milk, dark, semi, white)
  7. Intelligent conversation with passionate people - doesn't really matter what topic, if someone is knowledgable about something I love learning by hearing it from their POV. Philosophy, Theology, religion, politics, whatever
  8. Music - all kinds, but my heart belongs to Rock n Roll
  9. Reading - like my conversation, I'll read almost anything if it's presented in an interesting way
  10. Watching a good storm roll through while relaxing with a good book on my back deck
  11. My hot tub - it's my single favorite possession
  12. Theater - I should really look at getting involved in something locally.... hmmmm....
  13. Travelling - anywhere, anytime.... but there's a special place in my heart for Disney World in Orlando. I feel like it speaks directly to my Inner Child while I'm there, I'm never more laid-back or relaxed as when I'm there.

I basically turned the cable back on for Real Housewives and The Weather Channel. Okay, I'm a little ashamed.

I'll tell you what, though. These bad reality shows are a great jumping off point to have casual conversations with my 13yo about relationships and boundary-setting. 90% of these shows are people violating one another's boundaries, and it's actually a decent way to broach the subject. I also talk to him about sex and relationships and my expectations when we watch Teen Mom.

When people shame you about your TV habits? Hey, it's not ALL bad. :rotfxko

The first season is still my favorite! Spaced was funny, too. (Simon Pegg is great! Shaun of the Dead always makes me laugh, especially the scene where they're fighting zombies to Don't Stop Me Now by Queen.)
