Guilty Pleasure

Here I am--sitting in front of the computer enjoying my morning coffee and QUACKERS!!!!

I think that DesertEyes deserves some sort of memorial for this gift to humanity.

In i'ts own "twisted" way--QUACKERS never fails to lift me up.

I always make sure that I have just been to the bathroom before I start reading
the new additions to that thread!!!

And yes I do laugh out loud, sometimes almost hysterically. Ironically, some of
those I could have said or maybe did say back in my 'practicing' days, roflmao

And no they are not 'funny' in a ha ha way, but 'funny' in a very weird way, as if
there really is a handbook out there somewhere for drunks.

I still don't understand the distorted reality of the practicing alcoholic and I was
one. I do remember that in early recovery I felt like I had been placed on a very
strange world that I had no clue how it operated.

And all these years that I have worked with newly sober alkies, when I hear some
of their rationalizations I have to try and think back to when I was one, to be able
to follow their 'logic' at all.

It is 'funny' today, but it is also very very frightening to read just how much alcohol
and/or drugs has destroyed another mind.

So, yep, I do enjoy the QUACKERS thread and it does help keep me in reality!

Love and hugs,

I love to read them also! Well, I didn't at first, because my loved one was "different." LOL!

Now that i am in recovery, they provide a wonderful sense of belonging. I am not alone in the craziness I experienced.
