I think this might be the first year that I haven't indulged myself in a long time. My birthday falls just before the holiday as well so with all the great sales I have always bought for myself.

I did pick up a new set of stability balls on clearance a few weeks ago that I haven't opened yet. Maybe I'll go ahead & wrap them.

I'm doing a lot of cookies this year too! I had slowed down on it over the last few years but I've always loved baking & missed having the holiday treats. DD is 8 this year & really enjoying helping out & taking the HUGE responsibility of taste-testing each batch to make sure they're ok. I know this is a *great* sacrifice on her part.

I got myself a malti-poo puppy. He is adorable, loving, happy, spunky. His name is Henry and he weighs 4 pounds. My other dog loves him as well. And since my Bday is right after xmas, I thought, I deserve it.

I bought myself a new laptop. My son spilled juice on my old one and it was destroyed. I also have a total of 12 days off for Christmas and New Years break starting on Sunday!!!!

Not for Xmas because funds are tight with family gifts, but at tax time, I'm treating myself to a new tattoo. I've had the itch, and art in mind for several years.

Wow, everyone's gifts to themselves are nice to read about.

I'm though, different here. Maybe somebody else on this site feels like I do. I am giving myself the gift of not acknowledging Christmas. LOL
Christmas is going to be for happier years in my future. I am not there yet. I don't want to have to pretend on any level a happy Christmas this year. I am happy for others, in fact I am selling a lot of Christmas items. I am not wishing like some Grinch that others do not have happy Christmas--just the opposite--I hope others do have a happy season.
But I am in a season in my life where Christmas will have to be for the future. I am in transition, and focused solely on getting my act together, and achieving that. When happier times come, happier years, then Christmas will be a part of my life again.

Spa day for me already got it booked -hour and a half massage, facial, mud pack and sallt scrub on the body.

I plan to climb in bed and stay there and watch movies. Hubby is making me dinner.

My phone will be off ALL day!

New tattoo, tons of Xmas presents for the kids, couple of pieces of clothing, new makeup. I happened to have a particularly prodigious season with my online sales (eBay and Etsy) and felt like I could play a little.

I've already bought myself: new Dior eyeshadows, guerlain sparkling gold face powder for the Christmas season, a gorgeous pair of earrings from Swarvski jewellery to match my ring. All these thing are wonderful, half the price of the booze ups I would have already had by now and have not given me a single hangover, headache or anxiety attack, merry Christmas everyone x

We're leaving tomorrow for a week in Italy. Will spend the days around Christmas in a quaint valley in the Alps with a great ski resort closeby for the boy. There are chapels and old villages and farms on view and these are the most scenic mountains I've seen.

Over the pass is a slightly larger beautiful town dating from around yr 800, built around a flowing river bordered by shops and cafes, with enormous halls where royalty once danced the blues away.

From there I'll drive into Austria and Southern Germany, and come back to Iowa after another month, in time to see Winter begin to fade away into Spring.
