12 years of hell

Hi I am married to my best friend and have watched her lose control over the last 12 years. I don't know where to turn for help so here I am. I work a lot and come home to a passed out incoherent human and can't believe what a wreck she is. I know I need to goto alanon but I need some help as to how to find local meetings. Any help is appreciated

Welcome, knob. Here's a start: How to find a meeting in the US/Canada/Puerto Rico

Lots of great things to read here, as well. And glad Dee moved you here. Start with the stickies at the top of our home page.

Read as much as you can about alcoholism. It helps to be educated about it all. Keep coming back,
~T

Hi Knob! I was laying in bed one day after work and sat straight up from a commercial for alanon. the number was 1-888-4ALANON. Just call and give them your City and State and they will pinpoint a meeting for you!

My husband is an alcoholic and he is also my best friend. He says he is going to get help but right now, he's lied so much, I don't quite believe him. He said he will show me so his actions will speak louder than words for me atm.

Stick around and give that number a call. I think it may be a 24 hour number too.

Thank you all so much! It's great having a resource like this especially since I feel so alone dealing with alcoholism. I will post again after I goto my first meeting

Meetings saved me, try and go there with an open mind, be patient, this is not a quick fix deal.
