Just took xabfs Mum out

I took my Xabfs mum out tonight.
She is 85.
My daughter was singing & playing in a ukelele band & there were elderly choir singing too. It was a Christmas concert.
We didn't even mention her sons name or discuss him in any way.
She thoroughly enjoyed the concert & it was treat for her to be asked out.
I got a lot of pleasure from hearing her sing along to the songs she knew.
When I dropped her off I see xabf wasn't there so probably out with his new girlfriend but you know what as much as it still hurts - who cares.
He's probably out getting drunk & making a fool of himself & I don't have to listen to it anymore.
The concert was at church so if now is time to seek my higher power I was in the right place.
I am also going to mass for school in the morning.
So I find myself surrounded by kids & the goodness of church & a sense of calm.
I will put my faith in God that I will heal & I will be ok.

That's great that you were able to enjoy an outing with your XABF's mom. Even better that X wasn't brought up.

You have an amazing amount of tolerance and kindness to continue the relationship with your XABF's Mother. That's very admirable. Just be careful that it remains a kindness to this woman and not a tie that keeps you bound to her son. Sometimes, its easy to get the two confused! ; )

Glad you had an enjoyable time!

Rosiepetal, you are going on with YOUR life in the way YOU want to - more power to you!!!!

I'd imagine that your Xabfs mum really appreciates it - - it can't be easy for her to see her son self-destruct.

You are quite a person - strong, compassionate, making the best decisions you can, and moving on and healing!!!!
