This thread has helped me alot in my long journy..... I have heard things here that either directly effected me since I was very young. I grew up with an alcholic father, married an alcholic man, divorced and my 2nd husband has nowturned into one as well.
The one saying I get and this lets me know JUST how much he really has had... that # 4 gets old. ..... Is this " IT'S JUST NOT WORTH IT" as he lifts his arms and walks away.... after I said go ahead and go to bed you need to get up early in the moring and work * keep in mind it is 9:00 pm and I have 4 kids to put to bed,make lunches,food a load of clothes,wash and dry a load, and finish a science fair project. ten it can be bedtime ....I go in and listen to him cut logs all night... sounds like just what I want to do. " I think he may just be right " It's just not worth it."

How about......I lost the pontoon boat....What happened Dad?.....I put it in the boat house...went up to the house....came back down and the water in had receeded and the boat was gone........Dad doesn't the water do that everyday?......Yes, but I don't know how the boat was gone.......It was dark so I got a float and a flashlight and paddled around the cove IN THE DARK WITH THE FLASHLIGHT IN MY TEETH .....still now boat......neighbor found it across the lake in the am.....BUT IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ALCOHOL....IT WAS THE LAKES FAULT FOR RISING AND FALLING....WHATEVER.

while i went visit overnight he went out and got drunk, smoked marijuana and did cocaine, after being sober for 8 months. he said "i thought i could get away with it and you wouldn't find out". was it fair to sneak behind my back like a little kid. is this a healthy relationship if he has to sneak to drink. he thought i would get mad and then make up like we did for 10 years. well this time i didn't let him back in and didn't ask him to come home. nope i had had ENOUGH. now he's mad at me! why he doesn't like a taste of his own medicine.
