Thanks for those lists, titanic. One especially speaks to me, on the warning signs of alcoholism, the family section.
My X had all his financial ducks in a row, so it appeared from the outside that he had no problems. His health too, had yet to truly suffer, even though he drank to excess daily.
Nobody gets away with it all, all the time, or for prolonged periods. Eventually alcoholism catches up to them in some way, no matter how financially responsible, no matter how much good genes helps them prolong any physical consequences.
When a drinker meets all financial obligations, and their health isn't failing, it can really make the spouse question their own sanity more than those that have DUI's, job loss, hospital visits, etc. This made the whole situation especially difficult for me.
But on the family section, he meets most of the criteria.
