Sometimes I Gauge My Progress with Laughing at the Past
Seriously, humour really helps me gauge my progress sometimes. I find that the more growth that happens to me internally, the more I can laugh about some of the insane past moments. Moments that used to get me all riled up. Now I look back on some of these mental snapshots & can recognize the craziness of those times. Some of them make me howl with laughter because they were so ridiculous!
I can recall more than once where XAB would proclaim that the root our relationship probs stemmed from a lack of sandwiches. Yup. Sandwiches. If I only made him sandwiches more often, our problems would be solved. LOL OMG. For real. Looking back, I can not believe how much crazy I put up with!

In that case (world peace*), give me an everything sandwich!
Humor, the recovery yardstick - unless one is the family member who played the "clown" role (in which case the opposite is true)!
P.S. Humor is in the index to every one of the three Al-Anon daily devotional books.
* not Joey - but I'd take Monica in a heartbeat
