Others I think feel this stuff in other places in their bodies. Jaw and guts are my red flag signals.
Gosh do I want that hook to be as good as I "hope" it will be. That gets me in trouble. For example the two relationships (not both As) that for me have a lot of hooks they are both really fun, spontaneous and joyous people, especially when you first get to know them.
I struggle with accessing that side of myself and I look for that in others.
After getting hooked to that though I realized (later) that there was an insidious underside to these two individuals. One was an A, the other was living with undiagnosed bipolar disease. Though I could recognize that I was struggling in both relationships it is only now many years later that I am learning to take the hook out (and that it is okay to) and figure out if I want a hook free relationship at all (because I do have some of those).
