Hi
Hi I am new here too,I am an old lady of 61 who drank from age 13 to 57.I am sober today but in despair,as my only daughter aged 37 died a few weeks ago,of advanced liver disease due to drinking,I watched her suffer, but was powerless to help her.I did not believe she would die so soon, after only 20 years of drinking,I am still alive after over 40 years of drinking, but if only I could change places with her

I am so very sorry for your loss. There really is so little to say even when you want to comfort someone so much. My thoughts will be with you. Come back here and post as often as you want. You'll find a welcoming compassionate community, a number of whom have suffered similar losses to yours.

My deepest sympathy to you... so very sad to hear. Please do come and visit as much as you like as we are here for you.
Your story is powerful... none of us is ever promised tomorrow and alcoholism is a cruel and evil killer that often does have any rhyme or reason. Sharing it is a good thing that may help someone else...
thank you.

Freddym,
My heart goes out to you. I am terribly sorry. I am your age, and have a daughter that age. I cannot imagine your pain.
I hope you will stay and find the comfort that many with stories similar to yours have found.
I am so sorry for your loss. Your dear daughters struggle is over, and she is at peace, no longer a prisoner of illness.
Praying for you,
chicory

freddym, a warm welcome to our forum. I am so deeply sorry you lost your dear daughter. And I know you would have gone in her place if you could have done so.
If you are still here, then you must yet have a purpose for which God has you and you alone in mind.
May the beautiful spirit of your daughter be with the angels and with you here as well. God bless you.
