Happy 9th Sanity Bday to ME!
Ok I started this post but lost it early today - going to try it again.
Yesterday, Sept 3, 2012, marked 9 years in an Al-Anon recovery program!!
Wahooo & Thank YOU HP, SR & Al-Anon and all my recovery family!
Without this program I do not know that I would be alive today - I definitely know that I would not be SANE!!
Nine years ago when I walked in that room full of people I didn't know, talking about a program I didn't understand, asking me to be open to something I couldn't comprehend ~
But I saw something I wanted ~ sanity, serenity, peace and laughter ~ for this I was willing to go to any lengths.
I would love to tell you my life has only gotten better - but to be honest the first five years of my recovery is filled with many heartbreaking stories ~ but what the God of my understanding did was show me, I could be Happy, Joyous and PINKFully Free no matter what the circumstances!!
Today, my life is blessed far beyond what I ever could have imagined ~ more than I ever deserved and I am so humbled & grateful!
Thank you SR & all the members for being a part of this journey ~ I pray that I always remember - No matter what me & My God are going to be ok - even better than ok - why do I know this - Because we already are!!
