A Royal Flush of quacking

I think I was just dealt one tonight!

He launched into a total soliloquy.

I have heard, but not responded to:

I have no friends. It is all your fault.

When I leave here, you will have to make your own friends and not rely on me.

It it wasn't for me you wouldn't have your job or your career.

Now, I have a degree, a graduate degree and two further vocational qualifications. I have worked at my career (and never been sacked) for the last 25 years. I do earn a shitload of money. I think he's gonna' miss that...too bad, so sad. He has no qualification whatsoever - oh and that is all my fault

If it wasn't for me you would not own this house.

I own this house in spite of him. The things I have done to hang onto this house when he has been without a job boggle my mind.

He also said stuff like:

I can't wait to be out of here, but isn't there some way we can work this out? Um, nope.

I'm toey as all hell. I can't wait to be out of here so I can **** other women.

You must be toey as hell to **** other blokes. Um, nope.

Don't you EVER bring one of your ***** here to this house with my children in it!

I know as soon as I'm gone you'll have some bloke on top of ya!

I just "listened" to his entire performance.

I did not react. I did not engage.

The kids had to listen to it. That makes me sad. However, if I try to stop him or intervene it makes it worse. I have to not engage and ignore otherwise he will attempt to engage me in an all night battle. At least the kids did not hear me say anything. I said nothing except perhaps: "OK, that's how you feel."

Oh, he did say "We can work this out." I replied: "No, no we can't."

He pulled the "You women can just go to a refuge and get a room, why don't you do that if I am so disgusting" card. I ignored him.

If he continues to harp on THAT then I will take off from work and empty this house so when he comes here after work, if he chooses to attend on that day, me and the children will be GONE. It's not ideal for the children at all. If he wants to be the ******* from hell then he cannot continue to live in an empty house with no power, phone, heat or furniture.

And I can arrange that scenario, if he so wishes.

Way to stay strong!

It kills my husband when I don't engage or take the bait.

She loves to start things RIGHT when I'm exhausted and ready to go to bed, and I'm too tired to think straight. She's a very smart, quick-thinking woman, and tries to get my so confused that she feels that she's the winner.

Thanks to you guys, I'm learning to just sit there and say nothing when she starts a rant, which ticks her off even more.

I don't like to play games, personally or professionally. I shoot straight and I don't try to manipulate
