Background story: I live in PA, my mom lives in SC but is up in PA for the summer visiting her family, all of whom live in PA. She is in the process of divorcing my dad, who lives in SC. She has arthritis and had to go down to SC for a weekend to get infusion treatment. Anyway, my dad finds this out by looking at the card statement that shows the location of the transactions. So he sends me this via text:

"I'm in my office today working. Ask Mom to come by and pick up your checks and deposit them. I haven't been able to mail them yet. Then I can talk to her too."

In the meantime, my mom is nagging at me to "get on it" and get my life together. I'm trying. She's worried I will end up destitute. Telling me even if I get government help the government doesn't give a sh*t about people and that they won't help me. Her nagging and yapping is not helping me, it's making me depressed and I shut down and yell at my boyfriend.
