Ot - ouch!

OK, I know this is WAY off topic but I just got stung by a scorpion a few minutes ago. Just sitting at my computer of all places! This is the third time I've been stung in five years so I know how to treat it. Take benadryl, wash the sting site with soap and water, apply ice for 10 minutes. From the research I did before moving here, the venom of scorpions in Guatemala is not fatal. Just painful...

Yikes!

Sorry to hear about the bite; yet glad to know you will be okay. (guess you will get a good night's sleep too ~ with the help of benadryl)

Holy moly. I would have died from a heart attack, forget the venom.

Oh geez :ghug3, I have been stung twice and the stings are incredibly painful! We have so many kinds here but one type (that happens to look like a baby of every other type) is very dangerous. Good to hear you don't have those there. Hoping the pain lets up for you soon!

Funny you mention that...as a very young child I would scoop up the mammas, with the babies on their backs, out of the bathtub when it was bath time. They were everywhere, in every room, and it was just "normal" daily life.

The benadryl and ice seemed to do the trick. Much less pain today and I think by tomorrow it should be gone. Pelican-yes, I had a good night's sleep. Fourmaggie-we have squirrels here too. In fact I see squirrels more often than I see scorpions. Which makes me very happy.

And Ireland doesn't have snakes either!

They are so creepy looking.

Ewwwwww. I would be freaking out. But I guess you would too if a black bear walked by your window while you were at your computer. Guess its all relative!

Hope you are feeling better today!

I much prefer wildlife that doesn't sneak up on you. Like Tuffgirl's black bear. That one wouldn't be lurking under your bed when you get up in the morning.

Ouch!
Just for fun, the scorpion is a symbol of control, passion, protection and defense. 5 times!
Is there something in your life that you need to back off of and respect?
Is there something in your life that you need to protect and defend?
Are you being overprotective over something in your life?
Are you being defensive and if so, why?
Are you struggling with control issues (too much or too little)?

Just things to think about for you.
