So sorry for your loss lorandgeoff. (((((((hugs))))))). I found out my father was at the end when I was on a motorcycle trip & 1,000 miles away from home & damned if he didn't wait till I got home too. He passed the night I got home, but I did get to say good bye. Reading your post brought me back to hospital that night. I can't even see the keyboard right now I am crying so bad, I know what your going through. It gets easier though.
Thank you for your post, I'm glad I remembered saying goodbye.

So very sorry for your loss. There are so many tragedies about alcoholism.. but none of them have to do with anything you caused or could have controlled. My dad died of it as well and the pain is excruciating. Just be grateful for the love you were able to salvage.
