Mother in Detox
Mother in Detox
My Mother is binge drinker and goes on week long events till she's almost dead.
I took her to detox 2 days ago. I have her all set to go to a 30 day in patient program immediately after. She has no insurance and I am paying all out of pocket. Thousands and thousands .
She has an apartment but I'm afraid after all this if I return her there ( Where she lives by her self) She will just do all this again and all this money and time down the drain.
Does any body have suggestions what do do after the 30 day in patient program? Is there some sort of program she can enroll in that makes her check in every day???
Thanx.

Has your mom 'asked' for help. If not, I am afraid you may be
wasting your money on the rehab.
If she has asked for helped, and she completes the 30 day rehab,
then you might want to look into a Sober Living House for Women,
as there are many in California.
I am pming you with one that I know works for sure, lol I went
through it 31 years ago and it is still going strong.
Love and hugs,

She can asked a Dr. to be prescribed antabuse. It is a very old medication that makes someone extremely sick if they drink. The combo can even be dangerous so they don't prescribe it much anymore. AA is free & she can attend daily or even 2X daily. It helps some people & others not so much. I see you are in CA so there are many, many different types of meetings.
