Honey you turned yourself inside out & upside down for him over & over for years on end. No one could have done more. You left no stone unturned in looking for a miracle to get him sober.
I'm glad he is at peace now.
I hope you & your son find some peace now for yourselves.

Helen

It's a sad, sad loss. I hope you and your son are able to find a support group to talk through your grief. I have a friend who lost her partner of 17 years on Good Friday. He had started using again, cause of death was a heart attack likely caused by years of addiction and alcohol abuse.

I've watched her moving thru the various emotions, and I know that she is getting some really good help from a "grief group".

No matter how you look at this sad event, please know it wasn't your fault.

Im so sorry to hear of your loss. My XAH passed away a couple of weeks ago and my daughter found him with an empty vodka bottle next to him. He had been there for 6 days and like your husband, died alone with no-one and nothing. Like you, I too am filled with guilt and sadness at the circumstances surrounding his passing and I guess with time we will heal and these negative feelings will start to go away.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. My thoughts are with you.

My sincerest sympathy to you and your family.
Addiction is a horrible disease, and claims too many good lives.
Please know that this is not your fault, that you could not have saved him.
I am so sorry for your loss...
