Honestly The Lord's Prayer feels religious to me. I live in a very religious area though and all the meetings close with this so I thought it was an Al-Anon thing vs and area thing.
It was a relief to hear that there were other options. It is taking us as a group a little while to get used to it, but it is happening (and exposing us to more Al-Anon related stuff rather than religious things).
It has truly been a growing experience for me. Not just from a service angle, but from asking questions of the Al-Anon group, here etc. It has been a true lesson in there is no leader but we all have different roles to give back in.
Last but not least I am currently responsible for the phones in addition to this meeting and it is too much for me. I have set a boundary around it and this is a HUGE deal for me.
