My ex did not fight for custody so I have joint legal custody and primary physical custody and he gets visitation - based on our states recommended visitation. It is a huge document that lays out all the rules and we both agreed to it.
In hindsight I should have fought the visitation based on his drinking but I did not. My lawyer told me it would be a hard battle because of several factors but I should have gotten a second opinion. I think my xah would have just signed anything despite all his threats but your ah maybe not. The first year was rugged and he then moved away so it has been a non-issue. He does not ask for his visitation rights. If he did (which includes a long summer break if he lives far away) I'd have a problem with it and would have to look into the options.
