Nurse Jackie
Nurse Jackie
Last night I watched first 2 episodes of season 3 of series Nurse Jackie.
It made me think that anyone who has problem understanding the way adicts manipulate NA's should watch it.
It is so painfully familiar that it made me laugh.
RAH asked why I was laughing and I told him and asked him does is feel familiar to him and he said: yeah, that was me!
So, I was thinking if you're in doubt, if you are thinking it is you who is crazy, watch it, things might get a bit more clear for you.

Yes, me too.
What I particulary like in this show is the fact that the caracter is not shown in "one dimension" - like she is an addict = she is bad, horrible person. We see layers of her and the way addiction rules her life. I think the show gives great insight into addicted mind and helps us understand more about addiction.
I don't think that generaly in movies or tv shows addicts are portrayed realisticly, we rarely see the depth of caracter. I believe if this was different, as let's face it we do learn a lot from tv, and our opinions are often based on that knowledge, than we'd be all much more equiped to deal with addicts in our own lives. Maybe we wouldn't be so stuck so often thinking: " but my A is not that bad, he/she has so many good qualities... so he/she is not a real A..."
Anyways, my point is it is so nice to watch a show where the addict doesn't simple fit the general sterotype, but is portrayed as a real human being that we recognize.
