What are you thankful for today?

SR
Caring friends (who have checked in with me after a painful 24 hours with ABF)
Great parents (who listen and let me cry and give me loving guidance)
Church today (the message, the cute amusing kids around me)
Clarity and strength (even if they come from sorrow)
A fat cap on my lap
Indian food
Consolation benefit of boyfriend angst: I'm not all that hungry

My family, who put up with me even when I am grumpy.
The pain from my accident, because it reminds me how fragile life is.
My friends here at SR, who carry me when I cannot walk on my own.
My animals, who love me unconditionally.
This cold winter day, because it makes me appreciate spring that much more.
The HP in all his or her forms, for nothing would be possible without our HP.
The incredible huge peach moon we have tonight, because it takes my breath away.
Facebook, for all the silliness that makes me laugh and laugh in spite of my pain.
The ability to love, laugh, cry, and live!

Every great challenge in my life, as it has given me so much in return.

Today I feel very grateful we have electricity in our home and it is nice and warm, since during the past weeks we had major snow storm, and the whole town was left with no electricity and no heating. As hard as that was it has given me this feeling of great gratitude and happiness to wake up today in my nice heated home. We have friends coming for lunch, and it truly feels life can't get better than this.
We all have so many great things in our everyday life we should be grateful for and happy about, it is only a shame that we need to be deprived of them to start appreciating them.

Grateful to be sober and alive and have a good job, friends that truly love me, a great imagination, character, sense of humor and mostly my health. Grateful that I patched up a long overdue relationship with my dear brother who also suffers from this disease. Glad I am on the other side of the most dificult situation I've ever experienced - the lost my husband who died of this disease last year. I'm grateful to still have my stepson and his girlfriend and young daughter in my life, I'm grateful that I can still hike as often as I want, and paint and sew and garden and - the list goes on. WOW I'm really feeling gratitude today folks, thanks for asking for my 2 cents!!!

All my material things will come and go
and can never take them when I leave
this world. However, if this be my last
day on earth today, I can honestly say
that I am grateful for another day sober.

Oh, and my new tattoo as a gift from my
loving awesome husband.
