Other Online Recovery Forums? Hi, My AH has told me that he is going to give sobriety another shot. He tried at the beginning of the year, and lasted a week, citing the excuse that it 'wasn't that hard' so he could drink again. Anyhow, he wants to try again, saying that he feels better when he doesn't drink so he should try for longer (but doesn't stipulate how long). Regardless, if he wants to try again, I guess that's a good thing. I told him if he did, he should really get some support to go along with it. Where we live there is no AA (we live abroad in the sticks). Is there any other good online recovery forums that are good besides this one? I want to suggest one to him, but I would like to avoid giving him this site in case he puts it together that I am here. SR is the only support group I have (other than family and friends) and I enjoy being able to come here and dump out my emotions without feeling like I am burdening my family and friends with my same old **** all the time. Thanks. CJ |

(((CJ))) - I'm glad ((Suki)) posted the link - I thought there were online AA meetings, but didn't know where. I totally understand wanting to keep SR for yourself. To me, it's where I can "talk" without worrying if my family will find me. Hugs and prayers, Amy |
You can also check out the family and friends forum at SMART Recovery. Go to Family & Friends - An Alternative to Al-Anon and Intervention for more information. There's a message board similar to this one. You sign up for that, and there's a family and friends forum. There is also an online F&F meeting every week. |
I think if you perform a search of the internet for "Recovery Forum" you will come up with a variety of sites from which to choose. |
