The "other" addictions lacking support
I'm trying to find a sponsor or any suggestions as for Partners of porn addicts. I've been to all the major ones online. Mostly, there's tumbleweeds or they move too slow. Including the email groups.
I'm a recovering A and he is also a recovering A. (multiple years for both of us, still active in fellowship). He's also going to support groups for this porn addiction (4 months in - But unable to get 30 days <grumble>).
There's differences with the sex addiction realms, although most end up in Alanon because Alanon does work as a crossover and it's easily available. I am attending some Alanon meetings. I am seeking someone with experience in porn addiction to be a "distance" sponsor. Would anyone here be interested? Or does anyone here know someone who could help?

Thank you, and I have tried those avenues already. The partners of Sex Addiction (including porn) are support groups with no support. - Either Nobody's there (I get maybe one person responding to a post after a couple days - One partner group told me a member would get back to me within a week! Nobody did (COSA). Or else, they have no recovery - at all! The board being loaded with raging spouse after raging spouse.
If it's not a violation, perhaps someone will read this post and help.

STARTING YOUR OWN MEETING. Many an AA meeting, a NA meeting, an Alanon Meeting, and a Naranon meeting have been started on
a resentment and a coffee pot. For the time being, knowing it will be small the first few months (maybe only 1 or 2 others) until 'word gets around' by 'flyers' placed at Alanon meetings, hold the meetings at your house.
Set up a 'meeting format'. Alter the 12 steps to cover the 'Sex Addict' and see how it goes. If you start getting 5 to 10 folks coming regularly and the '7th Tradition' is getting some money to pay for coffee and such:
Start checking out Churches in the area, as many of them are willing to 'rent out a room' once a week, usually at a very reasonable 'monthly rent' (I've gotten them as low as S15 or $20/month for a 'spiritual approach meeting' for the loved ones of SAs. I've done it myself (start another meeting) several times, the last being about 6 months ago, that mommies could bring the 'little ones up to 4yrs of age).
OH, and if you are going to do it, talked to the Editor of the Community Pages of your local paper and see how much for a 'blurb' (many are free 'community service' or very minimal) about the new meeting:
"New "Loved Ones of SAs Support Group Meeting", Day , time , address starting date . It will be listed in the list of AA, NA, CA, ACA, OA, etc meetings.
