Hmmm...had a minute to think some more on your last post. Do you realize that his yelling is him trying to control you and see how you did, calmly asked him not to yell at you which he did not like so he tried harder by yelling louder but you stood your ground! And so what else could he do to continue to control the relationship? Hang up was all he had left.

OK, maybe that was obvious to everyone but me, if so sorry for pointing it out but I think I just realized how a person yelling at you is them trying to control. Thanks for sharing.

I KNOW!!!!

When I walked in the house and told my daughter what had just happened..she said the same thing...him hanging up was once again his way of controlling the situation.

I felt better last night..then I do tonight..but I do understand this won't be a cake walk...day at a time..one foot in front of the other.

I'm like a sponge soaking up all of what you all are saying. THANK YOU!

I think when a person needs to control others, to the point where they use yelling to do so, they have some serious issues that need addressed. It's hard to see that about yourself, I know because I have been that way in the past. Whenever I have lived with drug addicted/alcoholic people I have been that way; that is, a screaming, spitting, throw and smash things lunatic. I realize now it is because living w them is just VERY unhealthy for me because they create so much chaos and fear, unpredictability and uncertainty, not to mention the excrutiating pain and heartache, in my life. I've found that it's best for me to live alone. And to not drink alcohol. Because it seems when I "am a drinker," I forget all this about myself and somehow start living with an alcoholic or addict. Weird.

Thanks so much for continuing to share. It's really helping me.

Yes they do, but they're slightly modified.
They do step groups too.

Celebrate Recovery is really cool. I wish they had classes every day this week...could've used it.
