Things I'm Thankful That I DON'T Have
I don't have....
* to deal with a white-knuckle sober alcoholic and his snooty family
* a self absorbed narcissistic mother who is only interested in you if she can exceed your issues with her own
* a sink full of dirty dishes cooked for people too young to appreciate all the work you did - I love my kids, but they eat like....well, kids.
* a hot kitchen full of people I can barely stand any other time of the year, not to mention Thanksgiving
What I do have is....
* a friend who invited me to his house for Thanksgiving, even if I can't go (I don't have a car)
* a brand new trashy novel to read
* warm blankets and cool soft pillows
* hot, sweet tea
* a lovely warm bathtub and nice candles
I have to work overnights in retail for the next 6 days straight - in the toy department....if I survive, I'll check back in but until then....

I am grateful today, I don't have to deal with anyone's anger nor self destruction, no one is yelling at anyone, no one is yelling at me, there is peace... a bird chirping far away... the cats deep asleep under the sun.
