My daily prayer...

To the powers in the universe greater than myself...

Help me to keep an open mind, to be flexible with what life brings so that I may see the opportunities along life's path, to let go and let the unplanned unfold with its untold possibilities for self-realization and growth.

Help me enjoy each day [I say "this day"] with a measure of comfort, serenity, and a sense of achievement.

Help me to live with gratitude for what I have, rather than yearning for what I don't have, so that in each day [or this day] I may find contentment.

Help me to keep the focus on myself, to know that focusing on anything else keeps me in denial and doesn't allow others the same dignity and respect I want myself.

Help me to find the willingness to make amends and to take a personal inventory on a daily basis so that I may live without the burden of resentment and guilt that keeps me from living with joy and serenity.

Help me to understand and accept, as these are the keys to my serenity.

I open myself to a Power greater than myself.

What I didn't add was the mornings there are cuss words at the end of some of those sentences as I grit my teeth and make myself recite the **** words.

But...*BIG SIGH*... no one ever promised me an easy road. Well, maybe Walt Disney...but that's a whole 'nother therapy session!

This has been a journey full of painful life lessons - AFGE's as my Mom calls them (another f*****g growth experience) - today was a good day but tomorrow this daily prayer may be followed with the favorite sentence "give me the strength to not kill anyone today".

Lol your so funny TF My sponser used to tell me when I had a resentment w/someone I had to pray for them for 2 weeks. I had to pray that I wanted them to have everytihng in life I would want for myself. She also said you can never ever pray for them to get hit by a bus. Darn sponser..Thanks for sharing that prayer it was awesome
