That is so true. I never thought I would see a positive side to my experiences with alcoholism, but
My nephew is health, happy and thriving.
My parents are getting on with THEIR life, so am I.
There's no drama any more.
Theres no waiting for the next bombshell.
Theres no worrying about where he is, what he's doing, or not doing.
The pain of loss is still there, but I believe my brother is at peace too now, and that makes it easier to bear I think. (for me anyway, it's the way I have to think about it)

This was the only outcome for me and my family, and we're doing well, not just OK, we're really doing well.
We'd love him here and well with us, but it wasn't an option for US because he made his choices.
